THE VISIBLE AND THE INVISIBLE
Daigoro Sasaki’s work explores the visible and the invisible through time, presence and perception.
Rather than treating the visible and invisible as separate states, his practice considers how they coexist and continuously shift within our experience of reality. What we see is intertwined with what remains unseen — memory, intuition, imagination, unconscious perception and traces of time.
Through photography, moving image, installation and mixed media, he explores the imaginary lines that move between past, present and future, and between reality and imagination. These lines are not fixed boundaries, but fluid connections through which different moments, perceptions and experiences intersect.
His work often uses light, reflection, projection, transparency, shadow, movement and physical environments to reveal or obscure what is present. Reality, in this sense, is not understood as something fixed or limited to what can be directly seen. It can also contain what is remembered, imagined, sensed or experienced in the present.
His recent photographic and moving-image practice extends these ideas into fashion, craftsmanship and creative cultures, observing how people, objects, environments and time intersect.
